Clause “c” of Article 44 of Law No. 2547

EXAM RIGHT FOR STUDENTS WHO CANNOT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE GERMAN PREPARATORY EDUCATION PROGRAM WITHIN THE MAXIMUM PERIOD (2 YEARS)
Clause “c” of Article 44 of Law No. 2547

According to the Clause “c” of Article 44 of Law No. 2547 “The duration of prep class education is a maximum of two years.”
Students who cannot achieve German language proficiency at the end of the second year of German preparatory education will be subject to the Regulation on Foreign Language Teaching and Principles to be Followed in Teaching Foreign Languages in Higher Education Institutions published in the Official Gazette dated 23 March 2016 and numbered 29662, and the relevant legislation provisions will be applied and these students will be discharged.
Among the students who could not successfully complete the compulsory German preparatory education program within a maximum of two years and who were discharged from the university, those who fulfilled the attendance requirement in the preparatory class will be given the right to take the German Proficiency Exam three times each at the beginning of the academic year for three years, in accordance with clause c of Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547. “Students participating in these exams cannot benefit from student rights in any way.”  Those who took the aforementioned exam and pass the German Proficiency Exam are re-registered and continue their education from where they quit.
In this context, in accordance with the clause 6, article 30 of the Turkish-German University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation, the right to submit an internationally valid language certificate whose equivalence is accepted by the Senate of our University is given within 3 years, at the beginning of each academic year. (The date of submission of documents to the School of Foreign Languages is included in the academic calendar.)

Students who cannot successfully complete the German preparatory education within two years despite meeting the attendance requirement and who want to benefit from the exam right within the scope of the law in question must apply to take the German Proficiency Exam held at the beginning of the academic year (August/September). To do this, they must apply to the School of Foreign Languages with a petition at least one month before the exam in question.

These students are kindly requested to review the academic calendar for exam and application dates and to follow the announcements of the School of Foreign Languages.
